What is the most beautiful poem related to love that you have ever read? Or where can I find romantic poetry?
I am searching for the most beautiful poem that a woman could dedicate to a man. If you do not know any, perhaps you could suggest authors or certain poetry websites. Appreciate it and thanks in advance.
Song of Solomon
Why was poetry so important to romantic writers?
This is after the French Revolution and a during period known as romanticism.
Yeah, about 1780 through maybe 1850. Most of the romantic novelists of the period were themselves poets. Even if they weren’t (eg Dickens), contemporary poetry said something important about their lives. I doubt that this is anymore the case, where poetry has become irrelevant. Most of it is now also horribly self-centered and just plain bad.
Gives you something to think about, anyhow.
what is the important of poetry during the romantic age ?
In this context it is always capitalised as in Romantic, not romantic – that simply means love etc.
The Romantics were disillusioned with the tired, strictly controlled poetry of their predecessors. The main focus of much of their poetry was that of the ego, or the self. They were the first poets to really concentrate on the importance of the consciousness and the ego’s battles with itself.
Many of the first generation Romantics such as Wordsworth & Coleridge valued memory, nostalgia and above all the power of nature. This led to pantheism – a belief in a God which is not a corporeal being, but a kind of force or creator present within all of nature.
Poetry around this time naturally focused on the wonder of the world, for the first time (and as a result of The Lyrical Ballads) pastoral (countryside/agricultural) poetry was considered almost as lofty as that of the Greeks or Shakespeare, whom many of the Romantics idolised. Another feature of poetry during this time was a search for escapism, whether through opium (a favourite of Coleridge&De Quincy) nature or poetry itself. It was a search for a better consciousness of sorts, a plane above mere consciousness where the poetic mind could have access to great truths and beauties (often inspired by Platonic Ideas).
The scientific discoveries of the time also had an influence, and while Wordsworth and Coleridge in particular embraced the empirical sciences, Keats famously berated Newton for ‘unweaving the rainbow’ by explaining away its beauty.
Hope this helps

MP3 Ringtones — Inject your own grove into your daily grind.
Mobile phones have become one of the most prominent status symbols. It has gone beyond a mere tool to make and receive calls. It’s an expression of identity; a fashion statement; and with Mp3 ringtones, a way of injecting your own groove into your daily grind.
An Mp3 is a compressed audio file. For years, music lovers have exchanged these files on the Internet, playing them on their PCs or from dedicated Mp3 players. But then the mobile phone companies latched on to a brilliant idea: why not use those music files as ringtones, replacing the dull and sometimes annoying clanging sound that has been the trademark alert for incoming calls.
There is a wide variety of Mp3 ringtones, as wide as the range of music itself. From Mozart to Madonna, the Beatles to Britney Spears, or even commercial jingles, national anthems, cartoon themes, gospel music, nursery rhymes, even beat poetry. If you’ve ever hummed it, sang it, or tapped your feet to it, there’s an Mp3 version waiting to be played on your phone.
Mp3 ringtones can also be a good measure of how a movie or a sitcom has infiltrated into pop culture. There are ringtones that are actually snippets from famous scenes of Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings; while themes from The Brady Bunch bring smiles to anyone who has ever watched the show.
But there’s more. Mp3 ringtones aren’t even limited to just music. You can pick from a wide variety of sounds. A baby crying. A cow mooing. A woman moaning in ecstasy (how’s that to break the monotony of your board meeting?).In the Philippines, when wiretapped phone calls between the president and an election commissioner revealed possibility of election fraud, fragments of that phone call were even used as Mp3 ringtones—either as a sign of protest or to make fun of the situation.
All these ringtones are easily downloadable, but for those who truly want a unique sound they can even make their own ringtones. Some record the voices of their children. Others save romantic missives from a loved one. People also record the laughter of friends, or a fragment from a child’s Christmas performance, or even a beloved pet’s barking. While other people may not appreciate the Mp3, the fact that it has a personal meaning makes those ringtones music to the owners’ ears.
So why do people use Mp3 ringtones? The same reason they pick the shirt they are wearing: it reflects the owners’ personality. When they say my phone, they mean it in more ways than one. Sociologists say that people are driven to express identities in external symbols. It is part of our communal nature: this is me, this is the group I belong to. Primitive societies wore jewelry beads and animal teeth; some developed tattoos; and later on, developed clothes and other accessories. The phone is no different. Like feathers on a tribesman cap, it signals to everyone else who we are.

The History Of Lingerie & Chastity Belts
Many think of chastity belts as a part of medieval society, but there is little archaeological evidence to show that they were common, and many examples that do exist have been denounced as fakes. Even so, there is a basis in legend of the symbolic nature of the chastity belt.
What archaeological evidence there is suggests the belts were largely manufactured for women, although the main issue of conjecture is whether or not distrustful husbands forced them on their wives when they left home, or whether they were to safeguard women from rape. The most probable answer is that there were instances of both.
The most beautiful legend behind the history is written in the poetry of Guigemar de Marie de France who wrote in the twelfth century. She wrote that two young lovers were going to be separated and that they performed a ritual to honour their oath of fidelity to each other. The girl tied a knot around her lover’s shirt, while he knotted a belt around her waist. They swore that they would only give their love to one who could remove the garment without tearing or cutting it.
Lingerie
The first known example of women using lingerie to enhance their figure is in Crete, with the Minoan civilisation. Archaeological records depict a fashion of flounced skirts with a corset that moulded around the breasts and lifted them, leaving them bare. Whether this was a social fashion or a form of religious worship is unknown.
In the Middle Ages, however, there was an emphasis on small breasts, a range of different corset styles coming into fashion, notably thecotte, the bliaunt and the surcot.
During the Renaissance, however, this style became much more emphatic. The Spanish influence meant the introduction of much tighter corsets that moulded the woman’s shape into one highlighting a narrow waist, flat stomach and small bust. As a result, women often fainted, which enforced a dependency and the notion of feminine weakness within a male-dominated society.
Later in the eighteenth century, women emphasised a more voluptuous figure and began to employ more luxurious fabrics to enhance the sensual power of the female shape. This style continued, although in the 1770′s, boned corsets were prohibited only to make a reappearance in the 1800′s.
Bodices that could be laced by the wearer also came into fashion.
In the 1900′s, scented underwear and specific types of lingerie for different activities and times of day became fashionable. The fashion for tight corsets, however, remained. Garters and suspenders grew in popularity as more women wore stockings.
The twentieth century saw a decisive break from the tradition of the previous years, as more and more companies began to have an interest in the role of a woman’s body in her notions of self. Styles diversified and became more comfortable, while bra sizes and designs developed.
This development of lingerie throughout the ages has left women today with a much firmer sense of their own beauty, and the range of styles, fabrics and sizes allows each woman to dress according to her own style and what makes her feel positive about herself and her body. The romantic aspect of lingerie is essentially the feeling of self worth that comes from sensuality and indulgence.
