If you don’t have a particular author or book in mind, you can go to google books and browse the books in the classics section. To get the full text of the book you want to read, click the full view option. If you are looking for a book in google, type the title, together with words such as ‘transcript’, ‘full text’, ‘complete text’, ‘etext’, and the like.
Check the format after finding the book you were looking for. In most cases, the electronic book will be divided into chapters, and you can go right to a relevant chapter or passage in the book. If you choose to use google books, you may type a term, sentence, or passage you want to find. All pages containing the relevant passage or term will be shown.
Many websites offer free classic books to their readerships. The files are typically ordered by author name. You will see a sign near the title, which denotes whether you can read the full version of the text. Reviews and summaries of the books are also offered. These are useful in deciding whether you want to read a particular book. Some websites also feature a book of the day, highlighting particular readings every day.
