I am so glad that we have reached 10,000 people! Thats CRAZZZZY!!! I am so glad I am getting the chance to share this poem with the world and teach others.
I want to clear something up.
In no way was Caleb a mistake.
The Mistake was sleeping with a jerk who is and prolly never will be back in the girls life.
Mistake
Not a day goes by that I don’t regret that day.
I knew it wasn’t right but what was i to say?
No thank you, not now, maybe another day?
It didn’t matter he’ll do it anyway.
My mom warned me about this,
but we weren’t gonna do it maybe just a kiss.
The night was over time to go home.
He didn’t even say good bye, I felt so alone.
My mom woke up and asked where I’ve been.
Oh just out with Kate and her little sister Jenn.
A few months go by and my belly gets big.
No, I cant be pregnant I just eat like a pig.
I went to the store and got a test.
It didn’t feel right, but lets hope for the best.
10 minutes go by and it’s time to look.
This may be the hardest test I ever took.
I looked at the test and fell to the floor.
Next thing I heard was a knock at the door.
When I showed my mom she wasn’t very proud.
When I showed my dad he screamed so loud.
There’s nothing we can do the damage is done.
But there is options that won’t be so fun.
We went to the doctors, they said its a boy.
So, how am i gonna tell his father Troy?
My mom told me we have to put him up for adoption.
My dad said This was my only option.
I chose a family who couldn’t have kids of their own.
The parents names are David and Joan.
The labor was hard and it hurt quite a lot.
But it all went away when i got the shot.
The doctor came in and said “The family is here”
Its been a long road but the end is near.
Caleb’s new family came in I didn’t know what to say.
They promised they would write everyday.
I wrote Caleb a letter,
telling him this was for the better.
The new happy family left the room and I started to cry.
I was so sad I wanted to die.
I was only 14 and made a big mistake,
and it’s one I hope you never make.
